"Our love affair with aboriginal art developed via many years of travel into central Australia. Steadily we gained an immense appreciation of the aboriginal people's culture, humour, ability to prosper in a harsh and unforgiving environment, and staggering artistic talent.

We are immensely proud to represent our indigenous forebears."

Rae & Warren Walker and Lisa McLaren

Established in 2005, Honey Ant Gallery is proud to showcase outstanding established and emerging aboriginal artists from central and western desert Australia.

Honey Ant Gallery is operated by Rae and Warren Walker (Noosa), and their daughter Lisa McLaren (Sydney). The family frequently travels to central Australia to source art from remote aboriginal community art centres.

Honey Ant Gallery believes representing artists is a privilege and it ensures all artists are treated in accordance with fair and equitable practices, as outlined by The Australian Indigenous Art Trade Association.

The gallery is named after the honey ant, a fascinating little ant that has learnt to accommodate the harshness of the Australian desert by 'storing' food as nectar in its abdomen. Honey Ant Gallery proudly represents Australia's immensely talented indigenous people who, like the honey ant, have adapted to harsh conditions in which others would perish.
