Brenton Ken

As a child Brenton went
to school at the Ernabella Mission (Pukatia). Then as a young man he worked and
trained as a carpenter. He also worked as a stockman and fencing contractor.
Brenton had never
painted on canvas with acrylics before coming to Tjala Arts in February in
2007. His wife is Iluwanti Ken and they met at Pukatia.
They have three
children, one of whom is Sylvia Ken, who like Iluwanti, is an artist and paints for Tjala Arts.
Brenton is very shy and
almost deaf.
