Art Centre: Tjala Arts (Amata, S.A.)
As a child Brenton went to school at the Ernabella Mission (Pukatia). Then as a young man he worked and trained as a carpenter. He also worked as a stockman and fencing contractor.
Brenton had never painted on canvas with acrylics before coming to Tjala Arts in February in 2007. His wife is Iluwanti Ken and they met at Pukatia.
They have three children, one of whom is Sylvia Ken, who like Iluwanti, is an artist and paints for Tjala Arts.
Brenton is very shy and almost deaf.
