Raymond
Maxwell Tjampitjinpa is Pintupi and paints for Papunya Tula Artists.
He
is the son of George Tjangala, who was one of the early shareholders of Papunya
Tula Artists, and Pantjiya Nungurrayi who also paints for Papunya Tula.
Raymond
was born in Papunya in 1955 and worked for the Papunya Council while in his
20’s.
Raymond
did his first painting in 1993 but didn’t paint regularly until the late
1990’s.
