Ena Lane Napangarti

Ena Lane was born in 1957 at Haasts Bluff (Ikuntji) where she attended school.  

Her mother was Molly Napurrula and her father was Long Tom Tjapanangka, an early Papunya Tula artist.

Molly’s country was Brown Bore and while Tom belonged to the country of  Upungka.

Ena has two children and four grandchildren.  She lives in Papunya and paints at the 'Papunya Tjupi Arts' art centre.  Her painting style is extremely distinctive and meticulous.

Papunya Tjupi Arts

Papunya Tjupi art centre is located in Papunya NT, birthplace of the desert painting movement.  Many of its 150 artists are the relatives and descendants of the founding group of artists in 1971.
