Debra Nakamarra was born in 1964. She is the daughter of famous western desert artists Walangkura Napanangka and Johnny Yungut Tjupurrula.

Debra and her sisters (Lorraine Yungut Nakamarra and Katherine Marshall Nakamarra), started painting in 1984.  

Debra, like her mother Walangkura, is an exceptional artist with superb talent.  She paints women’s stories associated with the creation of her country.  Her artworks are sold by leading Galleries nationally.  She currently paints for world famous 'Papunya Tula Artists'.
